Sheri Palmer is the Office Manager at In Focus Eyecare. She is a Missouri native and after spending a few years in Utah, she and her husband, David, consider Gastonia, North Carolina their home. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Truman State University. Despite taking a few years off to be home with her 3 children (Ben, Anna and Joe), she has spent many years in the professional world gaining valuable legal, sales, management and non-profit experience. She has been with In Focus Eyecare since 2008.
Sheri enjoys spending time with her family and is especially happy when Ben and Anna are home from college. She keeps herself busy volunteering with school and church. If you happen to attend any high school games involving Ashbrook High School, there is a good chance you will see her there cheering on Joe and the other student athletes! Sheri is a lifelong Cardinals baseball fan.
Although many of her duties now keep her busy in the back, Sheri loves to fill in up front on busy days or when others are out on vacation and get a chance to catch up with many of our longtime patients who come back year after year, as well as, meet the wonderful new patients who come our way. Gina Martinsen is our ABO Certified Optician at In Focus Eyecare's showroom and dispensary, IFE Optical. Gina was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Dallas, TX and Charlotte, NC where she graduated from the Performance Learning Center. She studied Business Administration and Marketing at Catawba College. Gina's hobbies include cooking, shopping and spending time with her children and friends. She is the proud mother of two "stinkin' cute" boys, Brayden and Jackson.
Gina began working at In Focus Eyecare in April of 2013. Gina is trained on the latest technology offered by the optical lens industry and is skilled at helping our patients choose the perfect lenses and frames for their lifestyles, personalities and vision needs. She has gained extensive knowledge of vision insurance plans and will do her best to optimize your benefits for you. Gina is also our expert on frame adjustment and repair. Hope Thompson is Dr. Neff's Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician at In Focus Eyecare. She joined the team in October 2017 bringing over twenty years of valuable experience in the eye care industry. Hope began her career as a receptionist in an optometry practice in 1993 and has since worked in private and retail optometry and ophthalmology practices in North and South Carolina in positions of technician, office manager and store manager. Through these opportunities she has gained expertise assisting surgeons and optometrists working with retina, cornea, and LASIK patients of all ages. Hope was born and raised on the South Carolina coast. she moved to the Charlotte metro area in 2012 where she resides with her husband, Jason, and her fur baby, Molly. In her free time Hope enjoys cooking, hiking, cycling, flying, boating, and walking with Molly.
When you visit In Focus Eyecare, Hope will pretest and prepare you and your chart for your visit with Dr. Neff. She will contact your pharmacy regarding any pharmaceutical prescriptions that Dr. Neff may prescribe to make sure they are prepared for you. She will assist you with making appointments with specialists and with any follow-up concerns that may need to be relayed between you and Dr. Neff. Hope also assists with our contact lens patients to train new wearers to insert, remove and care for their lenses, as well as, work with patients and Dr. Neff to make adjustments to contact lens prescriptions as needed.
